Cleaning and care
Cleaning and care
For everyday care, our rugs love a good vacuum or shake to remove general debris. Light marks can be lifted with a little detergent and a white cloth, leaving your rug looking fresh in minutes. When it’s time for a deeper clean, machine wash at 40 degrees using a non-bio detergent.
For larger rugs (over 180 x 120cm), we recommend a quick wash at your local launderette, as they can be a squeeze in a domestic machine.
Our rugs emerge from the washing machine virtually dry, so simply hang on the line to fully air dry. Do not dry clean or tumble dry.
Microfibres
While the majority of our products are fully machine washable, we urge you to only do so when they really need it. This small step will significantly reduce the impact of microfibre shedding and prolong the life of your products. Read more about that here: Tackling Microfibres.
The Samarkand design is inspired by the colours of the Uzbek Samarkand landscape, with classic kilim motifs framed by a ‘so yolu’ running water border motif that's pleasing to the eye and will work in any design scheme.

I considered many rugs before finally settling on Samarkand and I couldn't be happier with my choice now that it's been delivered and has been in situ for a few weeks. It's versatile and complimentary tones go with my colour scheme and furniture and each person that has seen it has impressed on me how nice they think it is - most can't believe its origin but its something I'm always keen to get across to people.
The staff at Weaver Green - both in the showroom (it's brilliant, I mean really lovely, welcoming and homely - you should endeavour to visit it if you're able to) and those who respond to the constant questions I had via email - were brilliant and always so accommodating to look into matters, so I can't praise them enough.
I concur with other reviews in that to appreciate this rug it really needs to be seen. With the underlay it doesn't move at all and it cleans so easily and quickly as well. This is my second rug from Weaver Green to date and is my favourite as it was purchased as an 'area rug' so it is my statement piece, although given the quality and the standard of customer service it certainly won't be my last.
It goes well with different types of wood, glass and seating such as sofas and armchairs.
Today arrived my third rug from this wonderful company, a 400 cm long Samarkand runner rug, and as with its two predecessors I am absolutely delighted with the quality, the soft touch, the wonderful pattern and great colours.
The rug looks beautiful; lovely colours and the brochure/website do not do it justice. Customer service is also first class Reasonably priced as well. I shall definitely be ordering more from Weaver Green. The only comment I would make is that I think underlay is a”a must”. The rug is on carpet but does move around a bit:; I know Weaver Green recommend underlay - which I believe they can provide at extra cost for all rug sizes - and I shall definitely be ordering this.
